Line Width
Also known as: Extrusion Width
The width of each extruded line, typically close to nozzle diameter.
Line width is how wide each extruded line is. Usually set to match or slightly exceed nozzle diameter.
Typical Settings
- Standard: 100% of nozzle (0.4mm nozzle = 0.4mm line)
- Wider: 110-120% for better adhesion
- First layer: Often wider for adhesion
Effects
- Wider lines: Better layer adhesion, faster, less detail
- Narrower lines: Finer detail, weaker adhesion
Different Widths
Slicers allow different widths for:
- Outer walls (visible, precise)
- Inner walls (can be wider)
- Infill (often wider for speed)
- First layer (wider for adhesion)
