Ironing
Also known as: Top Surface Ironing
A slicer feature that smooths top surfaces by running the hot nozzle over them.
Ironing passes the hot nozzle over top surfaces with minimal extrusion, melting and smoothing the surface for a glossy finish.
Settings
- Ironing Flow: 10-15% (just enough to fill gaps)
- Ironing Speed: 20-40mm/s
- Ironing Spacing: Line spacing for pattern
Best For
- Flat top surfaces
- Name plates and signs
- Visible horizontal surfaces
Limitations
- Adds print time
- Only works on flat tops
- Can cause artifacts if poorly tuned
