Coasting
Also known as: Coast at End
Stopping extrusion slightly before the end of a line to reduce pressure and oozing.
Coasting stops extrusion slightly before a line ends, letting residual pressure push out the remaining filament. This reduces blobs at endpoints.
How It Works
- Extrusion stops before line ends
- Pressure in nozzle finishes the line
- Less material available to ooze
Settings
- Coasting Volume/Distance: 0.1-0.3mm³ typical
- May need adjustment per material
Combine With
- Retraction
- Wipe moves
- Linear/Pressure Advance
