Coasting

Also known as: Coast at End

intermediate Slicer Settings ⚙️ Slicer Setting

Stopping extrusion slightly before the end of a line to reduce pressure and oozing.

Coasting stops extrusion slightly before a line ends, letting residual pressure push out the remaining filament. This reduces blobs at endpoints.

How It Works

  • Extrusion stops before line ends
  • Pressure in nozzle finishes the line
  • Less material available to ooze

Settings

  • Coasting Volume/Distance: 0.1-0.3mm³ typical
  • May need adjustment per material

Combine With

  • Retraction
  • Wipe moves
  • Linear/Pressure Advance
