Bed Temperature
Also known as: Build Plate Temperature, Heated Bed Temperature
The temperature of the heated build plate for better adhesion.
Bed temperature is how hot the build plate is heated. Proper bed temp helps adhesion and prevents warping.
Common Bed Temperatures
| Material | Bed Temp |
|---|---|
| PLA | 50-60°C |
| PETG | 70-85°C |
| ABS | 90-110°C |
| TPU | 40-60°C |
| Nylon | 70-90°C |
Why Heat the Bed
- Keeps first layer warm and pliable
- Promotes adhesion
- Prevents warping (material shrinkage)
- Slows cooling of bottom layers
Tips
- Glass beds often need +5-10°C higher
- PEI surfaces work great with standard temps
- Let bed fully heat before printing
- Different surfaces may need different temps
