Technique to clean clogs by pulling filament out at low temperature.

A cold pull (or atomic pull) cleans the hotend by pulling filament out at low temperature, bringing debris with it.

How To

  1. Heat to normal printing temp
  2. Push filament through manually
  3. Cool to 90°C (PLA) or 160°C (Nylon)
  4. Pull firmly upward
  5. Check tip shape and color
  6. Repeat until clean

What to Look For

  • Clean, cone-shaped tip = clean nozzle

Best Materials

  • Nylon works best (wide temp range)
